It’s now the eighth day since I launched my blog, and honestly, the past week has been mentally demanding.
So far, I’ve published 17 articles, yet total visitors have only reached 45. Pageviews remain far below my expectations, and impressions in search results are still minimal. At times, I catch myself thinking, “Can this blog actually generate any income?”
Despite these doubts, my research shows that it’s completely normal for new blogs to receive very little traffic during the first three to six months. I keep reminding myself to be patient and continue publishing consistently. Believing that my effort will eventually pay off, I moved forward with today’s tasks.
Today’s Focus: Affiliate Program Registration
Today, I dedicated about three hours exclusively to setting up affiliate accounts. Up until now, writing and publishing articles had been the main task, but now it’s time to start preparing for monetization.
Google AdSense
To earn revenue from ads, AdSense registration is essential. The steps I followed were:
-
Access Google AdSense and log in with my Google account
-
Enter my blog URL to submit the application
-
Paste the verification code on my website
At the moment, my AdSense approval is still pending. Once accepted, ads will start displaying automatically.
A8.net
This is one of Japan’s largest affiliate networks. Steps included:
-
Register for a free membership on A8.net
-
Complete verification and access the management panel
-
Select ads to place on my blog
By promoting products through this platform, commissions can be earned for successful referrals.
Moshimo Affiliate
A beginner-friendly affiliate service, also compatible with Amazon and Rakuten ads. Steps included:
-
Register for a free account
-
Submit personal information for approval
-
Get affiliate links and integrate them into blog posts
With this setup, I can start monetizing based on the content I publish.
Looking Ahead
Even though I only have 17 articles and low traffic, completing the affiliate registration gave me a small but encouraging sense of progress. This is my very first blog and my first attempt at monetization — it’s been a challenge, but seeing the system coming together is genuinely satisfying.
Moving forward, my plan is to steadily publish more articles, share them on social media, and gradually integrate affiliate links while patiently waiting for pageviews to grow.
For anyone thinking about starting a blog:
-
Don’t expect immediate traffic
-
Writing and setting up monetization can feel tedious
-
Consistency over time is key; tangible results often appear after several months
My blogging journey is just beginning, and I’ll continue to expand my content, improve site visibility, and develop affiliate strategies. Every small step motivates me to keep moving forward!
