It’s officially been one week since I launched my blog. Looking back, most of my time wasn’t actually spent writing—it was spent laying the groundwork for the site itself. Between configuring the server, setting up essential plugins, and tackling the first round of SEO adjustments, the week flew by faster than I expected.
So far, I’ve managed to publish 12 posts in total, available in both Japanese and English. Thanks to that, I’ve started to see a small but steady trickle of international visitors, which feels like an encouraging start.
Early Traffic Insights: A Global Surprise
Using Google Site Kit for analytics, I discovered that my blog received 33 visitors in its very first week. Only one of them came through organic search—so yes, it’s still the beginning phase—but for week one, that’s a decent start.
When I looked at the breakdown by location, I couldn’t help but smile at the results:
-
Saudi Arabia – 12%
-
Los Angeles – 6%
-
Minato-ku (Tokyo) – 6%
It’s both funny and exciting to realize that people from places I’ve never been are somehow finding my site. Posting in English seems to be paying off already.
Testing the Waters on Social Media
After each post, I’ve been sharing updates on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. At the moment, both accounts are completely new—zero followers, zero reach. Still, I know this stage is temporary. With consistency, engagement will grow little by little. I see this as an investment in visibility rather than immediate results.
Plans for the Second Week
This first week was all about groundwork—building the site’s infrastructure and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. In the coming week, I’m hoping to start seeing some movement: perhaps more organic searches, or a few visitors coming from social media links.
Even if progress is slow, I can already feel that the foundation I’ve built will support future growth. From here on, it’s all about patience, persistence, and keeping the updates coming.
