AI-Powered Site Management – Day 29: [Second AdSense Review Result]

AI Blogging & Monetization

Hello, this is Higashi-No-Kumo, head of AI Side Hustle Lab.

On this blog, I leverage AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini for all aspects of content creation.

Today, I want to share the results of my second Google AdSense review, which finally arrived.

1. Second AdSense Review Result

The notification for my second Google AdSense review arrived recently.
The result was…

Rejected again.

Honestly, after working hard for a month, I thought I’d feel discouraged.
Instead, I felt more motivated to identify the cause.

2. Reason for Rejection: Low-Quality Content?

The reason provided by Google was roughly:

  • Content quality is insufficient

  • Fails to provide enough value or experience to users

Both points are abstract, making it difficult to know what to improve.
So once again, I consulted my AI partners, ChatGPT and Gemini.

3. What I Learned from AI – The Real Cause

After asking both AI tools, their answers were consistent:

“The current structure of your site makes it difficult to pass AdSense review.”

Ouch…
We’ve been building this site together, so it would have been nice to know this earlier! (laughs)

Still, after hearing the explanation, I couldn’t help but agree.

4. Problems in My Blog Structure

The AI highlighted three main issues:

1️⃣ Too many categories

  • Japanese, English, Spanish categories

  • 4–6 subcategories in each

  • Further branching into smaller categories

For a site just one month old, this structure was overly complex.
My desire for “more PVs later” led me to expand too much, which scattered the site’s focus.

2️⃣ Lack of clear specialization
Google prioritizes clarity: “What is this site about?”
A multi-language, multi-genre structure makes it hard for Google to determine the site’s theme.

3️⃣ Duplicate content from translations
Translating articles from Japanese → English → Spanish can lead Google to view them as duplicate content, which is risky for AdSense.

5. Possibility of Duplicate Content

Machine-translated content is often judged similar to the original,
which can result in pages being considered low-value content.
This can have a significant negative impact on the review.

6. Immediate Improvements (Current Actions)

Based on AI advice, I implemented the following steps:

1️⃣ Set English and Spanish pages to “noindex”

  • WordPress allows “noindex” settings for each article or category

  • This excludes them from AdSense review

2️⃣ Focus on Japanese articles first

  • Concentrate on building expertise within the Japanese category

  • Gradually reintroduce multi-language content after approval

7. Determination for the Next Review

Until I pass AdSense, my blog monetization cannot even start.

Learning from this experience, I improved the site structure and applied noindex settings,
and I will reapply for AdSense.

I am determined: the third time will be the charm.
No, it will pass.

To all my supportive readers, thank you as always.
With your support, I will make sure to succeed next time!
