Hi, it’s Higashi no Kumo!
It’s now the sixth day since I started my blog. I’ve been working on it a little each day, trying to make steady progress. What began as a casual idea — “maybe I’ll try blogging as a side project” — quickly turned out to be far more challenging than I imagined.
Day 5 – One Post at a Time
On the fifth day, I managed to publish one of my pre-written stock articles.
Even though it was just a single post, every publish takes longer than expected. Adjusting image sizes, heading formats, spacing between letters — it all adds up. Sometimes, it can take over 30 minutes just to finally click “Publish.”
Day 6 – Tackling Site Setup
Today, I focused on:
-
Creating a Privacy Policy page
-
Setting up the global navigation menu
-
Organizing categories
Honestly, I’ve been thinking for a while: “What does all this even mean?”
Questions like these kept coming up:
-
Where does the global navigation menu actually appear?
-
How is a fixed page different from a post page?
-
How do categories link to posts?
At first, the terminology alone was confusing. I kept switching between settings, replaying YouTube tutorials, and asking ChatGPT, thinking, “I think I get it… but it’s still confusing.”
Slowly, though, small daily interactions have helped me understand the bigger picture. I’m realizing that blogging isn’t just about writing posts — it’s also about designing the overall structure of the site.
Moving Forward, Step by Step
The blog is still far from complete — I’ve only managed to finish about half of what I want to accomplish. But even tiny steps feel like progress.
Running a blog requires patience. Most of the work is quiet, incremental, and often invisible. Sometimes the stress builds up, and giving up seems tempting.
Even so, my goal remains clear:
“I will reach 500,000 yen in monthly revenue from this blog.”
Right now, my posts barely appear in search results, and page views are almost zero. Yet imagining a future where my original stories reach more readers, and the audience grows steadily, keeps me motivated.
Tomorrow, I’ll continue little by little. Slowly, carefully, and persistently. Your support really inspires me to keep going.
